Julie Funderburk publishes The Door That Always Opens, her debut full-length collection of poetry, with Louisiana State University Press this December. She is the recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship and scholarships from the Bread Loaf and Sewanee writers' conferences. Her poetry appears in literary magazines such as Ploughshares, Hayden's Ferry Review, The Cincinnati Review, 32 Poems, and Birmingham Poetry Review.

 

A graduate of the UNCG MFA Writing Program and UNC-Chapel Hill, she is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Queens University in Charlotte, NC, where she directs The Arts at Queens.
