Julie Funderburk is the author of The Door That Always Opens, her debut full-length collection of poetry, with Louisiana State University Press. She is the recipient of fellowships from the North Carolina Arts Council and the Sewanee Writers' Conference. Her latest poetry appears in literary magazines such as Blackbird, The Southern Review, Ecotone, and Pleiades.

 

A graduate of the UNCG MFA Writing Program and UNC-Chapel Hill, she is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Queens University in Charlotte, NC, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Writers' Network.
